To begin the school year in science we will explore botany. In this unit the children will be planting Wisconsin Fast Plants. They will watch the plants as they go from seed to seed. Each student will plant eight seeds (at least everyone has two that grow from beginning to end). They will watch as the plants germinate, grow in length, and flower. Once the flowers are in full bloom, each child will have the opportunity to cross pollinate using bees (don't worry they're not alive). Everyone, including me, enjoys this experience. Finally we will thresh the plants and see the new seeds that have been produced.
